“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.“
Joshua 1:9
This verse is part of God’s charge to Joshua after the death of Moses. Joshua was about to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, a huge responsibility filled with challenges and enemies. God commands him to be strong and courageous, not because Joshua’s own strength is enough, but because God Himself will be with him wherever he goes.
For us today, the call to “be strong and courageous” is still very relevant. Life often feels uncertain, and we face obstacles that seem bigger than ourselves. But just like Joshua, we’re not left to face these alone. The promise that “the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” means God’s presence is constant. Whether in times of joy, struggle, or change. We can draw strength and courage from knowing that God is always by our side, guiding and protecting us. So, when fear or doubt tries to hold you back, remember this: God’s presence empowers you to step forward boldly into whatever He calls you to.
