“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9–10
The Apostle Paul is talking about a “thorn in the flesh” — a persistent difficulty or weakness he faced. He prayed earnestly for God to remove it, but God responded that His grace was enough. Paul learned that in his weakness, God’s power shines brightest.
This passage reminds us that it’s okay to feel weak or to face struggles—because that’s when God’s power can work most clearly in us. Our own strength often falls short, but God’s grace fills in the gaps and carries us through. When we admit our weaknesses and depend on God, His power is “made perfect.” It’s a beautiful paradox: our limitations become the stage for God’s limitless strength.
Paul even says, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” This means that embracing our weakness and God’s grace leads to true spiritual strength and growth.
